Dolphin, Birds, Fish and a Skull

Mutton Snapper for dinner!
We are anchored in another beautiful place: Basin Harbour Cay, located about 20 miles southwest of Cave Cay. After a great sail from Cave Cay, we rode out another storm (on two anchors) bringing high winds and rain from Florida, and then we've had great weather and lots of sun. Perfect for exploring this new place in our dinghy Newt, and for keeping our batteries powered up via solar panels.

This island is very different than Cave and Cash Cays, and others that we have seen on this journey. Lush green vegetation, high bluffs, lots of birds, and dolphin that drop by to visit us every day.

Yesterday's adventure, sparked by flat seas and calm winds, took us to the NE side of the island, where we discovered 30 ft. high bluff, clear waters, and fish. Lots of fish. Like the Mutton Snapper pictured above.

Brenda found a skull lying in the shallows, most likely from a Loggerhead sea turtle.

We've decided to move Pandion over to this new location today, in anticipation of continuing winds from the NE this week. The basin here has a hard bottom that makes it difficult for our anchor to hold in high winds; the new location looks to have much better (sand) conditions.
